What do we learn about in year 7?
1) Wonders of the World
We start the year learning about the key concepts of geography and go on to investigate some of the most wonderful places around the world and in our local area.
We investigate where our food comes from, the issue of food miles and interdependence of global food production.
3) African AdventureWe investigate the physical & human characteristic of Kenya. We discover how places and people are interdependent on tourism and its impacts. We look at variations in Quality of Life and Standard of Living on a global and local scale. Finally, we consider how we can ensure development is sustainable.
4) Spanish Adventure
We investigate the human and physical characteristics of Spain. We immerse ourselves in Spanish culture & customs. We investigate the tourist industry in Spain and look at comparisons between Spain and Kenya.
5) Crazy Coasts
We investigate the physical processes of erosion and discover the landforms created along our coastlines. We look at why and how coastal areas are managed. Finally, we examine the impact sea level rise will have on our coastal areas.
6) Amazing Maps
We discover why geographers LOVE maps and develop our locational knowledge and map skills.
